Step 1: Access the microphone key.

Step 2: Make sure the Google app is enabled.
Go to Settings > Applications and click on Google App or Google. Select Enable. If you see the Disable button, then it means that Google App is already enabled.
Step 3: Make sure that Google Voice Typing is enabled.
Again go to Settings > General Management > Language and Input. Tap Virtual Keyboard then select Manage Keyboard. Check if the Google Voice Typing button is on. If not, tap to enable it.
Step 4: Check and see if the microphone key already appears on your keypad.
Go to the message inbox or any app that can open up your keypad, and the microphone key should be there already.
If your microphone key still doesn't appear on your keyboard after trying these steps, your phone might be locked to a specific carrier. Try and download Gboard or contact support to let them know the problem.
